Vestnik of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO. September 2022

Dear Readers of the Vestnik of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO!

This is our 50th issue, so let’s celebrate our anniversary!
Since 2010, we have published thousands of photographs, hundreds of news pieces, and countless insightful articles covering all areas of cooperation between Russia and UNESCO, the world’s leading humanitarian organization. Our magazine focuses on a wide range of issues, from modern education to the preservation of historical monuments, from the fundamental and social sciences to the protection of ethno-cultural and natural diversity. We have also written extensively about the legacy of outstanding Russian artists, scientists, doctors, and teachers, and their contribution to promoting peace and mutual understanding between nations, and we will continue to do so. We have established partnerships with the national commissions for UNESCO from many friendly countries and are happy to tell you more about the experience and heritage of our partners.

Fifty issues is an impressive achievement, but it’s too early to make conclusions. In the current complex and unstable world, where political ambitions often prevail not only over universal values, but also over common sense, UNESCO should play an increasingly crucial role. Russia remains committed to the principles and ideals of the Organization, which means that our magazine will always have topics to cover.
