Day of Slavic Writing and Culture

24th of May — Day of Slavic Writing and Culture, dedicated to the creators of the Slavic alphabet — St.Cyril and Methodius.

More than 400 mln people in the world speak languages of the Slavic group, the most widespread of which is the Russian language.

6th of June marks the 225th anniversary of the great Russian poet A.Pushkin. On that day we celebrate the Russian Language Day.

This year on 6th June the Russian Language Day will be celebrated at the UNESCO headquarters:

10.00 — seminar for linguists and Interpreters;

15.00 — opening ceremony of the Russian Language Day and gala concert with participation of soloists, choir, musicians & dancers.

In the framework of the Russian Language Week at the Russian House of Science and Culture in Paris the following events take place:

5th of June — the exhibitions of the Russian Geographical Society and Agency for Ethnic Affairs;

7th of June — round table “Russian language as basis of integration dialogue”.
