Inclusion and Mobility in Higher Education

A high-level meeting on inclusion and mobility in higher education was held in Paris as a part of the 40th session of the UNESCO General Conference on November 13, 2019.

The meeting was attended by more than 100 ministers of the Organization’s member countries and 100 university leaders who participate in the program of UNESCO Chairs. This event became a platform for discussing the most pressing problems in the field of higher education.

Russia was represented by the head of the delegation of the Russian Federation at the 40th session of the General Conference of UNESCO, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov, who spoke on mobility in higher education in the second part of the event.

During the meeting, its participants discussed the issues of the adoption of the Global Convention on the recognition of qualifications related to higher education, the education of migrants, refugees and indigenous peoples, the introduction of a Qualification Passport for refugees, etc.

The role of enhancing international cooperation and capacity in higher education to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was also noted at the meeting.
