The 3rd Eurasian Humanitarian Forum on Culture and Folk Arts

The 3rd Eurasian Humanitarian Forum on Culture and Folk Arts under the guidance of UNESCO took place in the Ufa Congress Hall.

The Forum organized in terms of the 48th World Congress and General Council Assembly of the International Council of Organization of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) united 200 members from 54 countries. The Russian Commission for UNESCO affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Government and the Bashkortostan Ministry of Culture and the Committee of Bashkortostan Republic for UNESCO affairs organized this event.

The Forum was opened by the Deputy of the Bashkortostan Republic Prime Minister Salavat Sagitov. The speakers of the plenary assembly were: Secretary General of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, Ambassador-at-Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze, the Deputy of the Ge­ne­ral Secretary of The Council of Inter­par­liamen­tary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Special Represenative of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ashat Nuscabay; the CIOFF president, the UNESCO nongovernmental Organizations Chairman Committee Philip Bossan; the UNESCO goodwill ambassador Alexandra Ochirova, the Bashkortostan Republic Minister of Culture Amina Shafikovna and also General Secretaries’ substitutes of National Commissions for UNESCO affairs: Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan.

The members of the Forum discussed the problems of maintenance and development of Folk Arts, the unique cultural heritage of the World Nations in terms of globalization, figured out the aspects of realization of UNESCO and CIOFF strategies in these areas. The members of the Forum exchanged their work experience in these fields in Russia and other countries.

In the frame of the Forum the presentation of the new cultural humanitarian project was shown — “The map of the Eurasian peoples culture”. It was presented by the United Nations goodwill ambassador Alexandra Ochirova, who paid special attention to the subject of preservation of the intangible culural potential on the huge Eurasian space and to the question of its arrangement and protection as the Eurasian peoples cultural pattern.

The members of the 3rd Eurasian Humanitarian Forum expressed their sincere gratitude for the high organization level, professional event management, warm reception and hospitality to the leaders of the Bashkortostan Republic and the Forum arrangements committee.

The Ufa Declaration — the Forum outcome document in which all the propositions and recommendations was addressed to the Minister of Foreign Afairs of the Russian Federation, the UNESCO Affairs Comission Chairman Sergey Lavrov and the Direcor-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay.
