People of the Future. UNESCO representatives met with students of Kazan universities

Members of the Secretariat of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO met with students of Kazan’s leading universities.

On April 6, TISBI University of Management in Kazan hosted a meeting of Kirill Rynza, head of department at the Secretariat of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, and second secretary Artem Toporkov with the students of the Faculty of International Relations of TISBI and the Kazan Federal University. The venue was chosen deliberately since TISBI is home to a UNESCO Chair and a UNEVOC Center and is a center for coordinating Russian activities of the UNESCO Associated Schools network.

During the meeting, Kirill Rynza spoke about key activities of the leading international humanitarian organization, Russia’s participation in the implementation of its crucial programs and talked about the increasingly important role of UNESCO in the modern world.

Taking into account the students’ interest in working for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Kirill Rynza delved into opportunities of joining the staff of the Russian foreign service and what skills and abilities are now required from a diplomat in order to effectively stand for the interests of their country in the international arena. The issue of preservation of world heritage also drew a lot of attention from future international experts, which, of course, is due to the fact that the Republic of Tatarstan has three cultural and historical monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

At the end of the meeting, the staff of the Commission’s Secretariat thanked the students for exciting and topical issues and expressed their willingness to participate in similar events in the future.
