This is our 50th issue, so let’s celebrate our anniversary!
Since 2010, we have published thousands of photographs, hundreds of news pieces, and countless insightful articles covering all areas of cooperation between Russia and UNESCO, the world’s leading humanitarian organization.

On July 5–7, 2022, Moscow hosted the High Level International Conference “World Treasury of Mother Tongues: Nourish and Cherish. National and International Context, Policies and Practices to Preserve Indigenous Languages.” Representatives of 50 countries and regions delivered over 80 reports during the event.

The 5th International Forum of Ancient Cities titled The Bright-Colored World took place in Ryazan Region on August 24–27. The national costume was chosen as the main theme of the Forum given the Year of Cultural Heritage of Peoples of Russia. The participants also commemorated important dates celebrated in the region: the 200th anniversary since the start of official archeological excavations in Old Ryazan and the 870th anniversary of the city of Kasimov.

Numerous attractions and accessible environment make Moscow a perfect destination for tourists from all over the world. Moreover, nowadays, it is easy to plan an independent trip to the Russian capital.

Straw weaving is an ancient craft that has been an integral part of Belarusian art and culture. It reflects all the twists and turns of the history of the people, their character, mental and spiritual values. Belarusian straw is a modern national brand that reflects the creative abilities and hard work of the people of Belarus.

Pies are widely popular all over Russia, but each region has its own national kinds of pies. In this context, this stuffed pastry can be regarded as the national cultural treasure and also as a token of homeliness and family comfort.

The Zaonezhye region encompasses the eponymous peninsula and the islands in the northern part of Lake Onega. The local people are descended from the Novgorodians who started moving north at the beginning of the second millennium. Before that, the peninsula was populated by Baltic and Finnish tribes. As a result, the language and folklore of the Zaonezhye people still bears the traces of these ethno-cultural ancestors. This is the place where Russian epic literature has been preserved in its classical form, as well as lamentations, songs, and fairy tales that have become integral parts of Russian folklore. In particular, researchers have long been intrigued by the complex, multiphase marriage rituals in Zaonezhye.

Patomskiy Crater, better known as Kolpakov Cone, is believed to be one of the main mysteries of Siberia. Its unusual shape and origin have long attracted the attention of researchers from all over the world. Kolpakov Cone is most similar to meteor impact marks on the Moon or Mars.
