Russian Scientist Victor Bykov Has Been Awarded by the UNESCO Medal

Director General of NT-MDT Co. Victor Bykov has been awarded by the UNESCO medal and a diploma for “Contribution to development of nanoscience and nanotechnologies”.

The UNESCO Medal for “Contribution to development of nanoscience and nanotechnologies” was established on 1 March 2010 at the request of the International Commission for the development of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies section in a series of UNESCO’s Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems (EOLSS).

The medal is awarded by Director-General of UNESCO to prominent scientists, public figures, politicians, and organizations that contributed to the development of nanoscience and nanotechnologies in the spirit of UNESCO’s priorities.

Victor A. Bykov is Doctor of Engineering Science, author or co-author of more than 170 scientific works, including 63 applications for inventions and patents, director-general of NT-MDT Company, Chairman of the Guild of Advanced Technology and Innovation of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Russian Society of Scanning Probe Microscopy.

Under the guidance of Victor Bykov, NT-MDT Co. has over 20 years experience in developing and manufacturing devices in the field of Scanning Probe Microscopy to study and modify the surface. Over the years of work, four main lines of the company’s products have been created: INTEGRA, SOLVER, NANOEDUCATOR and NANOFAB.

NT-MDT holds on to second position in the global market of scanning probe microscopes. Its share in the global market of scanning probe microscopy is 16% (according to the Future Markets Inc. report for 2011)
